3.5 User data is opaque, privacy and value are passive

In the Web2 mode, most of the user's e-cigarette usage data is held in the brand backend or APP, and users:

  • Can't see, can't control, and can't get rewards

  • Manufacturers may use this data for market analysis, advertising, and product optimization, but users cannot decide whether to share it, let alone obtain tokens or monetary feedback from it

In the "Global Consumer Data Rights White Paper (2024) ", it is pointed out that more than 78% of users hope to "own their own usage behavior data and decide how to share it independently".

Whiffin's DePIN data mechanism is based on this design. The user's inhaled data is encrypted and stored by default, and whether to make it public, authorized, and monetized is determined through NFT identity verification. Data will become the user's real asset, not the platform's resource.
